Arabic language guide

book cover of easy arabic

A few soldiers made the effort to learn basic Arabic and many remember at least numbers: 'wahid, ithneen, thalata ...', from the first chapter. Some words like 'bint' (young woman) and shufti (look) passed into general army language.

The guide would still be useful as it has the usual vocabulary lists of directions, colours, etc and handy phrases like: 'Speak slowly', 'The boy has fled', 'Don't make me angry', 'Show me your identity card', 'He is afraid of assassination', 'Have they made peace?'
