Jerusalem memories

Jerusalem
"Jerusalem, my Happy Home
Name ever dear to me" —
Thus sang we from our Book of Hymns
With tuneful melody.

Jerusalem's not my Happy Home—
Nor shall she ever be;
Nor can I say, I must confess,
Her name is dear to me!

I've seen Jerusalem wet and cold.
I've seen her dry and hot—
To make the place my happy home
I own I'd rather not.

But yet the Name Jerusalem
Dear Memories Recalls,
Of many gallant friends of mine,
Who sleep beneath her Walls.
