Published in Cairo in 1942 and written by the Rev AR Ennis, Chaplain to the Forces, this little book details, by region, the history and biblical places of Palestine.
There is a useful chapter on 'What to see in the time available' whether you have only an hour in Jerusalem (go to the Holy Sepulchre) or with a whole day you can take in Bethany, Galilee and Nazareth (the car must leave by 7am, however). Much of the information could be used today.
